Tendon transfer surgery is a type of hand surgery that is performed in order to improve lost hand function. A functioning tendon is shifted from its original attachment to a new one to restore the action that has been lost.
After this type of surgery, you will be placed in a splint for 2-3 weeks. After 2-3 weeks we will remove the splint and the stiches and give you a Tall CAM boot. You will be non-weight bearing, meaning not able to put weight onto the ankle, for at least 6-8 weeks after surgery.
